In
this podcast at Cnet,
John 'copper' Cioffi talks a little bit about
DSM (dynamic spectrum management), a software solution for noise cancellation on DSL lines, sold through
Assia. It delivers a reach increase of 25-30%, enlarging customer reach by up to 50%, according to him. Apparently, he is betting the farm on copper, delivering up to 100 Mbps over a maximum of 1 km.
At around the 17th minute, he also talks about VDSL2 and ADSL2+.
